Notation for Improvisers Conference

At present I am organising a one-day conference hosted by the Institute of Musical Research which will examine the many kinds of interaction between notation and improvisation. This is scheduled for Saturday, 9th February, 2019; the keynote speaker will be Professor Matt Wright, who is also head of Composition and Sonic Arts at the School of Music and Performing Arts, Canterbury Christ Church University.

The link for this event, and any updates, can be seen here.

Performance of Something Is Other Than It Is, in Berlin (Sunday, December 16th)

Just last weekend I noticed that my solo bass clarinet piece has been scheduled for performance at the Arkaoda venue as part of the KontraKlang concert series in mid December, so this will also be a first time for me at this venue. The performer is Ingolfur Vilhjálmsson for whom this piece was written and with whom I have collaborated on a number of different projects. Ingo recorded my piece for CD, which is entitled Solo Bass Clarinet Contrabass Clarinet.

Concert begins at 8pm.
